The Highway of Memories

Traveling has been my passion throughout. Nothing seems as challenging and adventurous as traveling. Riding a standard Bullet 350 over the Mumbai –Poona Expressway is an awesome experience. As weekend advances, the thoughts of backpacking, riding with the wind on the highway, camping, or trekking do come and tickle off.

At times thoughts do take a real picture. Laces of boots are tightened, straps of backpack are pulled, and the firing of the bike seems recalling the days of thunder as they were, during those college days. The time, when past was left miles behind and future didn’t bother much.

When all of the friends or the riders meet and plan for a trip it sounds great. The weekends become more enthusiastic. Till certain miles everybody chats about the corporate life which they wear everyday, after the outskirts of the city life takes U turn. All of them start riding down the memory lanes.

The same old highway, the same old camping spot, which was lost in memories of yesterdays, takes a riders seat. Shots of life which are known as flashbacks start screening once again. Forgotten shots come back to life. In all these things, some things never change which are those hillocks, mountain ranges and the winding roads over the hill ranges and last but not least the fun of riding down from ranges towards the highway back.

For centuries these mountain ranges, those valleys, and those winding roads over the ghats are still the same. Welcoming, and enthralling visitor, riders, tourist, or a passer by. Some of them stay back for a while to enjoy the beauty and some pass by.

In the end of the day what flashes back is that grassland that spread till miles, the sunlight which gives a new feeling, riding with the wind that touches and passes by and your fellow friends and riders. Last but not the least is you companion! That makes your trips great on weekends or on holidays, your bike. The trip comes to its last stop in the city with a saying

“Life is a journey, travel every phase of it.”
